Marketroid is a derogatory term usually referring to marketer s, by combination with droid robot droid implying that marketers are something less than human . Used fairly frequently in the computing community, particularly for marketing divisions of companies in response to frequent vaporware announcements and other unrealistic claims. The Jargon File version 4.4.7 public domain has a somewhat less generous description that it s someone inside the marketing department.
