    Heredity is a scientific journal concerned with heredity in a biological sense, i.e. genetics . It was founded by Ronald Fisher R.A. Fisher and C. D. Darlington in 1947, after the head of the Journal of Genetics , J.B.S. Haldane , joined the Communist party . It is the official journal of The Genetics Society . From 1996 the publishing was taken over by Nature Publishing Group who also publish Nature Genetics . The Journal of Heredity is an entirely distinct publication.
