Greenhouse Item was an American nuclear testing nuclear test conducted on May 25, 1951, as part of Operation Greenhouse at the Pacific Proving Ground , specifically on the island of Engebi in the Eniwetok Atoll in the Pacific Ocean Central Pacific Ocean . This test explosion was the first test of a boosted fission weapon . In this test deuterium tritium D T gas was injected into the enriched uranium core of a nuclear weapon nuclear fission bomb . The extreme heat of the fissioning bomb produced thermonuclear fusion reactions within the D T gas, but not enough of them to be considered a full nuclear fusion bomb. This fusion reaction released a large number of free neutron s, which greatly increased the efficiency of the nuclear fission reaction. The nuclear weapon yield explosive yield of this bomb was 45.5 kiloton s, about twice the yield of the unboosted bomb. This bomb was known as the Booster in its development stages, a name for the mechanism coined by Edward Teller in September 1947. Planning for it had begun in the late 1940s. According to the researcher Chuck Hansen , it was mentioned in official U.S. Atomic Energy Commission documents as early as 1947. The main problems in development were making modifications to the fission core in order to accept the gas correctly without reducing its own efficiency. The 1951 test was primarily to test the nuclear principles involved, and to gain research data, and it was not considered a design for a weaponizable device. 1. Seawater Greenhouse

TOC right The Seawater Greenhouse is a technology for creating fresh water from seawater in arid regions, using an adapted greenhouse that also provides suitable food growing conditions. The technique involves pumping seawater or allowing it to gravitate if below sea level to an arid location and then subjecting it to two processes first, it is used to humidity humidify and cool the air inside a greenhouse , and second, it is evaporated by solar heating and distillation distilled to produce fresh water . Finally, the humidified air is expelled from the greenhouse and used to improve growing conditions for nearby outdoor plants. The technology is being developed by the UK company Seawater Greenhouse. Slightly more concentrated, residual sea water then gravitates, or is pumped if below sea level back to the sea and some of the pumping energy can be recovered in turbines. Applicability The technique is applicable to sites in arid regions. The promoter claims that distance and height from sea are not a problem as the cost of pumping seawater long distances is not excessive. It is proposed that energy could be reclaimed by turbines as the slightly concentrated brine flows back to the sea. ref name pumping http www.claverton energy.com pipe headloss power calculator calculate how much energy to pump seawater to the middle of the sahara or gobi desert for desalination in the seawater greenhouse answer not a lot.html Pumping Power calculator what power is needed to pump seawater to the middle of the Gobi Desert for desalination in the SeaWater Greenhouse? answer not a lot , Claverton ... It is a primary insect pest animal pest of many fruit, vegetable and ornamental crops, frequently being found in glasshouses and other protected horticultural environments. Adults are 1 2 mm in length, with yellowish bodies and four wax coated wings held near parallel to the leaf surface. However, this stage cannot be defined as a true pupa stage as hemipterans do not exude this stage of development. Plant damage All life stages apart from eggs and pupae cause crop damage through direct feeding, inserting their stylet into leaf veins and extracting nourishment from the phloem sap. As a by product of feeding, honeydew secretion honeydew is excreted and that alone can be a second, major source of damage.
