The Kentucky IntercollegiateAthleticConference KIAC is a collegiate athleticconference with membership in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics NAIA . Although it was historically a Kentucky only conference, it has now expanded to include members in Indiana , Missouri , Ohio and WestVirginia . The KIAC recognizes hundreds of athletes and staff each year with awards. Awards include weekly players of the week, all conference teams, all conference coaches, all scholar athletes, female athlete of the year, and male athlete of the year. The awards give each KIAC participant a chance to be recognized for on and off the field achievement. The conference embraces the NAIA s Champions of Character, becoming the first conference to offer funding to member schools to pursue projects in their hometown communities. The Texas IntercollegiateAthletic Association was an National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA affiliated Division III NCAA Division III college athletic association for schools in Texas from 1976 to 1996. There have been two other athletic associations with the same name which have dissolved. From 1913 to 1917 it was the name for Texas schools that today are Division I NCAA Division I teams. They went on to form the Southwest Conference . In the 1920s until 1931 the conference consisted of teams that would become Division II NCAA Division II teams. It would become the Lone Star Conference . When the 1976 association dissolved in 1997, most of the teams joined the newly formed American Southwest Conference which included teams from other states.
