Blobs are sections of the visual cortex where groups of neurons that are sensitive to color assemble in cylindrical shapes. Multiple issues notable October 2008 refimprove October 2008 A human visualsystem model HVS model is used by image processing , video processing and computer vision experts to deal with biological and psychological processes that are not yet fully understood. Such a model is used to simplify the behaviours of what is a very complex system. As our knowledge of the true visualsystem improves, the model is updated. It is common to think of taking advantage of the HVS model to produce desired effects. Examples of taking advantage of an HVS model include colour television. Originally it was thought that colour television required too high a bandwidth for the then available technology. Then it was noticed that the colour resolution of the HVS was much lower than the brightness resolution this allowed colour to be squeezed into the signal by chroma subsampling . Another example is image compression, like JPEG . Our HVS model says that we cannot see high frequency detail so in JPEG we can quantise these components without a perceptible loss of quality. Similar concepts are applied in Audio data compression Lossy audio compression audio compression , where sound frequencies inaudible to humans are bandpass filtered. Several HVS features are derived from evolution, when we needed to defend ourselves or hunt for food. We often see demonstrations of HVS features when we are looking at optical illusions. In his studies on human visual cognition , Shimon Ullman proposed that the human visualsystem s task of perceiving shape properties and spatial relations is split into two successive stages an early bottom up state during which base representations are generated from the visual input, and a later top down stage during which high level primitives dubbed visual routines extract the desired information from the base representations. In humans, the base representations generated during the bottom up stage correspond to retinotopic map s more than 15 of which exist in the cortex for properties like color, edge orientation, speed of motion, and direction of motion. Visual Objects is an Object oriented programming object oriented computer programming language that is used to create software program s that operate primarily under Microsoft Windows Windows . Although it can be used as a general purpose programming tool, it is almost exclusively used to create database programs. The original Visual Objects project code named Aspen was started as part of Nantucket Corporation Nantucket s attempts to bring the Clipper programming language Clipper language to Windows, and move from the Procedural programming procedural to the Object oriented programming object oriented style. It also converted Clipper from a p code machine p code system to being a true native compiler and introduced more elements of the C programming language C language such as typed Variable programming variables , while including Windows extensions such as Component Object Model COM , ODBC , and later ActiveX Data Objects ADO . With its symbol datatype, it offers the ability form name based linkages, which may be used to connect Menu computing menu events to Method computer science object methods or form direct linkages between server columns and controls. The Windows version was finally brought to market by Computer Associates . Unfortunately it was released before it was market ready and in almost head to head competition with the first release of Borland s Delphi programming language Delphi product. The language is still in use and being actively updated by GrafX Software . The next incarnation of the Visual Objects language is Vulcan.NET programming language Vulcan.NET , written by GrafX from scratch to be both Visual Objects compatible and be a true CLS compliant .NET ...
