The Uppsala Synod in 1593 was the most important synod of the Lutheran Church of Sweden . Sweden had gone through its Protestant Reformation and broken with Roman Catholicism in the 1520s, but an official confession of faith had never been declared. The synod was summoned to Uppsala by Charles IX of Sweden Duke Charles , heir to the Swedish throne. Four bishop s and over 300 priests were also present. Lutheran archdiocese Uppsala is the seat of the Lutheran Archbishop of Uppsala. The diocese, which has its centre in the city of Uppsala , covers Uppsala County , G vleborg County and parts of Stockholm County and V stmanland County . The archdiocese originally also included those parts of Norrland , which were included in the new Diocese of H rn sand when it was founded in 1647 and the Stockholm City of Stockholm , which was made Diocese of Stockholm a diocese of its own in 1942. As of 2005 the archdiocese consists of 201 parishes f rsamlingar or historically socknar distributed over 86 larger parishes called pastorat and a smaller number of deanery deaneries . Uppsala Basket is a Sweden Swedish basketball club playing in Uppsala , they play in the top Swedish basketball league Ligan . Uppsala Basket was founded in 1960 and plays it home games at Fyrishov. The Uppsala General Catalogue of Galaxies UGC is a catalogue of 12921 galaxy galaxies visible from the northern hemisphere. The primary source of data is the blue prints of the Palomar Observatory Palomar Observatory Sky Survey Sky Survey POSS . It also includes galaxies smaller than 1.0 arcminute in diameter but brighter than 14.5 magnitude from the Catalogue of Galaxies and of Clusters of Galaxies CGCG . The catalogue contains descriptions of the galaxies and their surrounding areas, plus conventional system classifications and position angles for flattened galaxies. Galaxy diameters are included and the classifications and descriptions are given in such a way as to provide as accurate an account as possible of the appearance of the galaxies on the prints. The accuracy of coordinates is only what is necessary for identifications purposes. The Pharmaceutical Students Association in Swedish language Swedish Farmacevtiska Studentk ren , nicknamed Farmis is one of two students union s at Uppsala University . While all other students of the university are members of the Uppsala Student Union , students at the Faculty of Pharmacy are organized in the Pharmaceutical Students Association. The Association was founded in 1896 at what was then the Institute of Pharmacy in Stockholm . When the institute was moved and became part of the University of Uppsala in the 1960s, the students were allowed to retain their own student union.
