He qualified for the medical profession and came to Adelaide in 1851. He was appointed first house surgeon to the Adelaide hospital and practised at Nairne and Adelaide. He retired about 1870 and except for occasional trips to Europe and America, lived in Adelaide for the rest of his life. He had inherited property in Wales, and invested his money judiciously in bank and other shares. A much respected man of regular and precise habits, he spent much of his time at the Adelaide public library. He died at Adelaide on 8 March 1903. Under his will about 65,000 was left to the public library, museum and art gallery at Adelaide. Life Hunt was born in Dorset in 1802, and is stated to have been educated at Winchester , Hampshire . Life Hunt was born in Horsington, Somerset and, after being educated locally, studied at the University of Oxford as a member of Christ Church, Oxford matriculation matriculating in 1715 and obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1718 . He was a tutor at Hart Hall, Oxford from 1718, and was ordained deacon in 1720 and priest in 1721. Ecclesiastical appointments that he held were rector of Chelwood , Somerset 1721 prebend of Whitelackington , Somerset 1726 chaplain to Thomas Parker, 1st Earl of Macclesfield and tutor to his grandsons 1728 rector of Bix, Oxfordshire 1729 and rector of Shirburn , Oxfordshire 1731 . According to Orr, this book did not add many new ideas to the deistic movement, but did vigorously restate and give new illustrations to some of its main ideas. Morgan was first a dissenter preacher, then a practicer of healing among the Quakers , and finally a writer. The first volume of The Moral Philosopher appeared anonymously in the year 1737. It was the most important of the three volumes, the other two being mostly replies to critics of the first volume. John Leland Presbyterian John Leland , John Chapman and others answered the first volume of Morgan s book, and it was these answers that prompted Morgan to write the second and third volumes. He then studied at the University of Oxford , firstly at Wadham College, Oxford Wadham College and then at Jesus College, Oxford Jesus College , and graduated in 1790. He later obtained his Doctor of Divinity DD degree 1824 . He was ordained and joined the Royal Navy as a military chaplain navy chaplain .
