His diaries of proceedings in the House of Commons are an important source for historians of parliamentary history during the period at which he was a member, and J. E. Neale Sir John Neale draws heavily upon them in his ground breaking two volume study of Elizabeth I and Her Parliaments 1953 7 . Cromwell was a member of five successive Parliaments between 1571 and 1589. His constituencies included Fowey UK Parliament constituency Fowey 1571 , Bodmin UK Parliament constituency Bodmin 1572 81 and Grampound UK Parliament constituency Grampound 1586 7 and 1588 . He served on numerous Parliamentary committees and, by the end of his career, seems to have been one of the most respected of the independent members and recognised as an authority on Parliamentary procedure. His sympathies were with the Puritan party in the House, but he was considered a moderate. Thomas Lord Cromwell is an Elizabethan history play, depicting the life of ThomasCromwell, 1st Earl of Essex , the minister of King Henry VIII of England . The play was entered into the Stationers Register on August 11, 1602, and was published in book size quarto later the same year by bookseller William Cotton. The title page of Q1 specifies that the play was acted by The Lord Chamberlain s Men , and attributes the play to a W. S. A second quarto Q2 was printed in 1613 by Thomas Snodham. The Q2 title page repeats the data of Q1, though the Lord Chamberlain s Men are now the King s Men playing company King s Men the name change having occurred in 1603 . The W. S. of the quartos was first identified as William Shakespeare when publisher Philip Chetwinde added the play to the second impression of his Folios and Quartos Shakespeare Shakespeare Third Folio in 1664. Modern scholars reject the Shakespearean attribution speculation, relying on common initials, has shone on Wentworth Smith and William Sly as possible alternatives. Individual critics have also suggested Thomas Heywood and Michael Drayton as possible authors &mdash suggestions unsupported by firm evidence. Indeed, scholars have disagreed about almost every aspect of the play it has been dated as early as 1582&ndash 3 and as late as 1599&ndash 1600. The play is primarily political commentary &mdash or religious propaganda. Baldwin Maxwell argued that the play has a discontinuous nature the first half, through Act III scene ii, is dramaturgically well crafted, while the second half is disorganized and loosely put together. Maxwell interpreted this as indicating that the extant text was the telescoped condensation of a two part original alternatively, others ... pl Thomas Lord Cromwell pt Thomas Lord Cromwell ... more details

Image Cromwell Firmware on an Xbox.jpg thumb right 222px Cromwell boot menu on an Xbox Cromwell is a replacement firmware for the Microsoft Xbox gaming console that has been developed by the Xbox Linux Project. If programmed onto the onboard flash chip of the Xbox or a modchip , it can boot the Linux operating system and practically convert the Xbox into a full PC. It is unusual in that it is a legal firmware because it does not use any of Microsoft s code to function and was developed primarily through reverse engineering of the original MS bios and its boot process. In light of this, many Xbox modchip manufacturers ship this firmware with their chips to avoid Lawsuit litigation and copyright infringement claims. The main function of this firmware is to load the Linux operating system, although it also supports other features, such as the ability to reprogram the hardware with another firmware image, lock and unlock the hard disk, and change video mode PAL NTSC . Unlike the vast majority of Xbox firmware images, it is not able to load Xbox games either original or otherwise . This is because the original Microsoft firmware image contains the kernel of the Xbox operating system widely believed to be a stripped down Windows 2000 derivative that is, the firmware is the operating system. As Cromwell does not contain this, it is not able to allow games to load and function. Cromwell includes code from other open source projects, but combines them in a unique way. This is a list of components that can be found in Cromwell a Linux 2.6 derived USB stack in a standalone version i.e. it runs without Linux Linux kernel derived JPEG decompression code Etherboot networking code GRUB filesystem support and bootloader code The standalone version of the Linux USB stack from Cromwell has been ported to the ReactOS operating system.
