Born in Caripito, Venezuela , Clark received a Bachelor of Arts B.A. from the University of Connecticut in 1973 and an Master of Arts postgraduate M.A. from the University of Connecticut in 1974. He was in the United States Army from 1974 to 1976. He received a Juris Doctor J.D. from the University of Texas in 1979 and was in the United States Army Reserve from 1980 to 1990. He was an assistant city attorney in the City Attorney s Office of Abilene, Texas from 1979 to 1982. He was in private practice in Texas from 1982 to 2002, and served as a Representative of District 62 in the Texas State Legislature from 1997 to 2002. On January 23, 2002, Clark was nominated by President George W. Bush to a seat on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas vacated by Howell Cobb . Clark was confirmed by the United States Senate on October 2, 2002, and received his commission on October 10, 2002. RonClark is an United States American playwright and screenwriter . He is best known for several plays that he co wrote with Sam Bobrick and for co writing the screenplay s for the films Silent Movie , High Anxiety , and Life Stinks with Mel Brooks . Career Clark began his career writing for television programs during the 1960s, including such shows as The Jimmy Dean Show , The Danny Kaye Show , and Snuffy Smith and Barney Google . He began writing plays in the 1970s with fellow writer Sam Bobrick. Their first play, Norman, Is That You? , premiered on Broadway theatre Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre Broadway Lyceum Theatre on February 19, 1970. The two men went on to write several more Broadway plays together, including No Hard Feelings play No Hard Feelings 1973 , Murder at the Howard Johnson s 1979 , and Wally s Cafe play Wally s Cafe 1981 . Ted is caught in the middle of a standoff between Dr. Kelso and the nursing staff, who demand a cost of living raise. When Kelso refuses, saying that the nurses would never labor strike strike because they care about the patients, the nurses initiate a slowdown of work. Kelso tells Ted that he will eventually give the nurses their raise at the expense of firing three of them. Ted tries to urge the nursing staff to stop the slowdown, but to no avail. Eventually, Ted gives the nurses some leverage he anonymously gives them an invoice for needles that reveals that Sacred Heart has been receiving 50,000 worth of needles for 50 each month. The nurses blackmail Dr. Kelso, and he gives them their raise without firing anyone. Ted has a fantasy of having great hair, making out with two women, and accidentally causing his mother s death.
