The show was created and originally hosted by Andrew Felson. The program featured comedy , alternative rock and punk rock music. The show was later co hosted by Wayne Sladek, who joined the show in 2000 and did all of the programming for the Punk Rock section of the show. In 2001 Derrick Heidinger joined the cast and his many different voices and characters became popular with listeners Haggis a Scottish curmudgeon, and Farmer Brown a backwoods farmer were the two most popular characters. In 2002, with the rise in the show s ratings, Heidinger became the show s host and executive producer. The show dropped its punk rock aspect and expanded on comedy segments, plus had a new cast of students. Not Real utilized the services of the largest cast for a radio program in WKPX history.
