It was opened in 1977. It was a custom design and made by Arrow Dynamics . The ride was officially opened by Grand National winner Red Rum whose hoof print was also taken and is on display near the rides exit. This is the only operating steeplechase style roller coaster left in the world. The riders sit upon a horse shaped vehicle which can seat one or two people in line. Although not a high or fast coaster, riders often state that it is a lot more intense than it looks.     The International Gold Cup was first held in 1930 at Grasslands Downs , Tennessee . Two years later it was moved to the Rolling Rock Club course in Pennsylvania . For the next fifty two years the meet was held at this private country club located in the Ligonier Valley about fifty miles outside Pittsburgh . Proceeds from the annual Rolling Rock Hunt Race Meeting went to the Home for Crippled Children.     The Great Eastern Steeplechase is an Australia n Thoroughbred Steeplechase horse racing steeplechase horse race held annually at Oakbank, South Australia on Easter Saturday and Monday at the Oakbank Racecourse as part of the Oakbank Easter Racing Carnival . The distance of the race is 4950 metres making it the second longest horse race in Australia held on a public course. The most famous jump is the fallen log which is literally a log about a metre high. All other jumps are brush fences. The height of jumps has been reduced in recent years to reduce the risk of falls and make for safer racing. The race uses a different course to other races held at Oakbank with horse using an inner track passing on the inside of a hill. Unlike other races that require two racecallers the Great Eastern can be viewed in its entirety from the grandstand.     Other uses Point to point disambiguation Image Pointtopointrace.jpg thumb 300px A point to point race A point to point is a form of amateur horseracing over fences for fox hunting hunting horse s. In Ireland many of the horses will appear in these races before they compete in National Hunt races either in Ireland or in the UK . In contrast in England and Wales horses running in point to points are more likely to be at the end of their national hunt careers. The Irish point to point is used as a nursery for future young stars a horse that wins its debut point to point in Ireland will often sell for a lot of money. Horses running in Point to Points must be thoroughbred s, save in the case of hunt members races and certain other club members races e.g. Pegasus club members race . The horses have to obtain a certificate from a Master of Foxhounds stating that they have hunted for at least 4 days in the season before racing starts in January. The 2007 season started in December 2006. In addition the jockey must obtain a certificate from the hunt secretary.
