    Paul Wallace born 22 October 1958 is a British auto racing driver. He is best known for his efforts as an independent driver in the British Touring Car Championship . Racing career In 1999 and 2000 he competed in the Tomcat Vento Challenge, winning his class in the second year driving a Rover 220 Coupe Turbo. He entered his rover in the Super Coupe Cup for the 2001 season. This was followed in 2002, driving in the Elf Clio Renaultsport UK Cup, where he finished nineteenth on points. His first year in the BTCC came in 2003. The first half of the season was spent in the Production Class, with an Alfa Romeo 156 . For the second half of the year he stepped up to the Touring Class, replacing Gavin Pyper in a Vauxhall Astra Vauxhall Astra Coup . It was created and drawn by Frank Godwin for King Features Syndicate King Features . TOCleft The line work in Rusty Riley shows an obvious influence of James Montgomery Flagg and Charles Dana Gibson , although Godwin used a variety of styles in his book and magazine illustrations. Contemporaries such as Hal Foster , Milton Caniff and Alex Raymond continue to be reprinted with regularity, while Godwin s two strips are difficult to find. He receives more attention in Europe, specifically France, though even there it is quite sparse. The film is notable for featuring the famous Ace the Wonder Dog as Rusty the only appearance by Ace in the Rusty films. Plot The film s plot involves Danny Mitchell Ted Donaldson , a young kid in the American town of Lawtonville, who is grieving over the loss of his dog. He is also struggling to adjust to his new stepmother, Ann Margaret Lindsay , and has a difficult relationship with his father Conrad Nagel causing him to call on a psychiatrist played by Addison Richards for assistance. However, Danny befriends Rusty, a ferocious German shepherd who was taken back from Germany after World War II . Having worked a police dog for the Gestapo , however, Rusty is ill tempered and Danny struggles to train him. A subplot involves two escaped Nazi spies Arno Frey and Eddie Parker who arrive in Lawtonville, attempting to escape the Coast Guard , and ultimately try to take Rusty by speaking to him in German language German .
