The male is black with an iridescent greenish blue crown, throat and central tail feathers. It has a black curved Beak bill , black feet, dark brown Iris anatomy iris and yellow mouth. The female is an olive brown bird with barred blackish below. Endemism in birds Endemic to eastern Australia , the Paradise Riflebird is distributed to rainforests of New South Wales and central Queensland . The diet consists mainly of insects and fruits. In displays, the male extends his wings and fans them upward with its head behind the wings to expose his metallic green throat feathers. He then moves his head from side to side with open bill to show off his bright yellow mouth. The Paradise Riflebird is evaluated as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. It is listed on Appendix II of CITES . The male is a velvet black and green Birds of Paradise bird of paradise with black flank plumes, black curved Beak bill , yellow mouth, blackish feet and dark brown Iris anatomy iris . It has an iridescent greenish blue on its crown, throat, breast shield and central tail feathers. The female is a rufous brown bird with barred buff below. Its appearance resembles and sometimes considered as a subspecies of the Magnificent Riflebird , being different by the lower breast and abdomen coloration, male s distinctive growling song and feathered culmen base. The Growling Riflebird is distributed and Endemism in birds endemic to the lowlands of easternmost Papua New Guinea . The male is polygamous and performs courtship display solitarily.
