  1. Aurora (periodical)

Aurora was a literary journal founded by K roly Kisfaludy in 1821 2. It was crucial in the development of Romanticism in Hungarian literature , and in establishing Pest city Pest as a literary centre. Kisfaludy began collecting contributions in 1820, but it was not until the autumn of 1821 that the first issue appeared bearing the date 1822 . He himself wrote prolifically for his own magazine short stories, poems, and folk songs. It began as an annual but by its end it was appearing at six month intervals. Its circulation was approximately 1000. Hungarian writers who travelled abroad to cultivate links with German and English literati could point to Aurora as evidence of the existence of a new and vital literary culture which would transcend the neoclassicism of elder figures like Ferenc Kazinczy . Upon Kisfaludy s death in 1830, J zsef Bajza took over the magazine. A dispute with the printer led in 1834 to the brief appearance of a rival version of the magazine with a different editor. Censorship took its toll on Aurora , and in 1837 the magazine ceased publication. Its social role was taken by a new magazine, the Athenaeum 1837 43 , edited by Bajza and Mih ly V r smarty V r smarty and appearing twice or thrice a week. The main members of the Aurora circle were K roly Kisfaludy , J zsef Bajza , Ferenc Toldy , and Mih ly V r smarty . refimprove date June 2010   An annual publication , more often called simply an annual , is a book or a magazine , comic book or comic strip published yearly. For example, a weekly or monthly publication may produce an Annual featuring similar materials to the regular publication. br   A new form of literary work called the Annual was a fad from about 1823 through 1857 , and became so popular, that they were soon published up to 17 times a year. British royalty increased their popularity. They closely resemble many college literary books just produced for college campus today, except they contained lots of etchings of beautiful women from steel plates. They were the fashion magazines of the day. Later it became fashionable to watercolor the etchings, and the Annuals became early coloring books. 1. Cataloging in Publication

Globalize date November 2010 Unreferenced date November 2010 In publishing and library science , Cataloging in Publication CIP , or Cataloguing in Publication is basic library catalog cataloging data for a work, prepared in advance of publication by the national library of the country where the work is principally published or by the library of a publishing organisation such as a government department. The name reflects the usual practice of including that information in the corresponding publication in the case of books, near the bottom of the copyright page , and can be very useful for less experienced cataloguers when adding such items to their collections. The national libraries CIP staffs restrict the range of publications that CIP will be prepared for, for instance requiring access to assistance from the publisher s staff. An all too frequent problem with CIP is when publishers change bibliographic details, such as the wording of a title, after receiving the CIP data. The CIP data as published in the item will be incorrect and not able to be used by subsequent cataloguing agencies without manual amendment and if a pre publication record has been entered onto a database it can be difficult to locate and edit to match the details on the item itself. Each national library maintains a database of the entries it writes. 1. Publication subvention

Unreferenced auto yes date December 2009 Orphan date December 2009 Wikify date December 2009 In academic publishing , a publication subvention is guaranteed funding towards a partial subsidy of a scholar s publication in book form. The idea has recently been proposed as a possible solution to the crisis, as some identify it, associated with the difficulty of publishing scholarly books, emerging from the combination of small audiences with many academic press books losing money on their publication, and even good sellers profiting publishers only in the thousands of dollars and high demands with a published book typically required for tenure in many fields . Typical proposals call for a publication subvention of a few thousand dollars to be associated with each new faculty job, or even with each admitted Ph.D. student, by the sponsoring institution, in order to alleviate the financial strain on the academic presses finances and allow them to choose works for publication based purely on merit.
