Outback Nunataks coord 72 30 S 160 30 E is a series of bare rock nunatak s and mountains which are distributed over an area about 40 mile s 60 Kilometer km long by 20 mile s 32 Kilometer km wide. The group lies south of Emlen Peaks of the Usarp Mountains and west of Monument Nunataks and upper Rennick Glacier , adjacent to the featureless interior plateau. They were discovered by the U.S. Victoria Land Traverse party, 1959 60, and mapped by United States Geological Survey USGS from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959 64. The museum is home to a decommissioned Qantas Boeing 747 Boeing 747 200 , which can be observed by people. It also holds the airline s first jet, a Boeing 707 Boeing 707 138 . The Boeing 707 was restored at Southend Airport in England in mid 2006 and returned to Australia in December 2006. It was flown to Longreach on June 10, 2007.
