O tempora o mores is a famous sentence by Cicero in the fourth book of his second oration against Verres chapter 25 and Catiline Orations Oratio in Catilinam Prima in Senatu Habita First Oration against Catiline . It translates as Oh the times Oh the customs Oh what times Oh what customs It is often printed as O tempora O mores , with the interposition of exclamation marks not present in Classical Latin . In his opening speech against Catiline , Cicero deplores the viciousness and corruption of his age. Cicero is frustrated that, despite all of the evidence that has been compiled against Catiline, who has been conspiring to overthrow the Roman government and assassinate Cicero himself, and in spite of the fact that the senate has given senatus consultum ultimum , Catiline has not yet been executed. Cicero goes on to describe various times throughout Roman history where consuls have killed conspirators with even less evidence, sometimes in the case of former consul Lucius Opimius slaughter of Gaius Gracchus one of the Gracchi brothers based only on quasdam seditionum suspiciones , certain suspicions of insurrection Section 2, Line 3 . This sentence is now used as an exclamation to criticize present day attitudes and trends, often parody jokingly or irony ironically . Johnny O is a freestyle music singer born and raised in Brooklyn , New York. He is of Puerto Rican American Puerto Rican and Dominican Republic Dominican descent. He also, arguably with Stevie B , is known as The King of Freestyle . He has released eight albums, most of which were underground music underground hits. His most successful album was the self titled album from 1988, which included popular Latin underground songs such as Fantasy Girl , Highways of Love , and Memories . Johnny is not a radio host in Canada as most have been mistaken but instead now resides in Florida with his family where he performs around the country several times throughout the year. He is currently signed to ZYX Music ZYX records . In 2007 Johnny O. released an album of mostly new material, with a couple of remakes mixed in, and the CD is entitled Peace on Earth 2012 . The album is a Christian album, however, it is also loaded with a variety of different types of dance songs.
