The NorthernIrelandLaw Commission is a Law Commission in NorthernIreland that will be created under section 50 of the Justice NorthernIreland Act 2002 , implementing recommendations following the Good Friday Agreement . The Act has not yet been brought into force, but it is expected that the NorthernIrelandLaw Commission will be created in 2007. It will replace the exising non statutory Law Reform Advisory Committee . The NorthernIrelandLaw Commission will keep the Northern Irish lawlaw of NorthernIreland under review, with a view to law reform . It will have five members, a part time chairman and four full time commissioners, appointed by the Secretary of State for NorthernIreland . The chairman will be a judge of the High Court of NorthernIreland , who will retain judicial office while acting as chairman. The other commissioners will include a barrister , a solicitor , a legal academic, and a layperson.
