National Film School Ireland In 2011 the National Film School in Ireland will come under the auspices of the National Media School. The National Media School formerly New Media Technology College was set up in 2000 to offer highly specialised programmes in Digital Media. Since then, the NMS has expanded the range of courses to include the excellent Edexcel BTEC programmes in Film, Photography, Journalism, 3D, Games Design, Business IT and FETAC accredited courses in Film, Photography, Music, Performing Arts, Interactive Media, Information Technology. The NMS is located in the heart of Dublin city centre, adjacent to St. Stephen s Green. Staff and students have won numerous awards including the Golden Spiders Awards, Digital Media Awards and The Irish Professional Photographers Association Awards.
