    Michael Absalom born 13 April 1980 , more commonly known as Abs , was a regular presenter on CBBC from 2002 to 2004 . Biography Born on 13 April 1980 in Falkirk ,Stirlingshire Scotland , Absalom has lived in many different areas including Barrow in Furness , Cumbria Rowlands Castle , Hampshire and the south west counties of Dorset and Somerset . He now lives in west London . CBBC Absalom made his first appearance on the new CBBC Channel CBBC digital channel in 2002, as the resident weather forecasting weatherman . However, his popularity meant that he soon became a regular presenter in the studio, and before long he was one of CBBC s leading presenters, presenting not only on the digital channel but also making regular appearances on the morning slot on BBC2 and the occasional appearance on the BBC1 afternoon slot. Other Shows His popularity on CBBC was furthered in the summer of 2003 when he and fellow presenter Anne Foy were chosen to host Britain s Amazing Mates , in which they toured the country attempting to find the best mates in Britain , involving games and activities.     BLP sources date June 2007 Jack Absalom born 1927 is an Australia n artist and adventurer and was one of the members of the Brushmen of the Bush . He worked in the North Mine of Broken Hill . He was brought up in the Nullarbor , west of Port Augusta, South Australia Port Augusta and from an early age developed a wide knowledge the Australian outback. In 1972, Absalom made a trip to the Flinders Ranges with a group of artists. Although he had never before painted, he felt a great urge to paint the landscape and a natural talent was discovered. He now has his own gallery in Broken Hill. Each year Absalom disappears into the bush for two months to paint. Group exhibitions of his work with other bush artists have been held successfully internationally and Absalom has held one man shows throughout Australia. He also starred in the television series Absalom s Outback where he travelled to remote outback locations in a Chrysler Sigma and showed useful outback survival techniques.     Unreferenced date March 2007 Absalom Tatom 1742 20 December 1802 was a United States House of Representatives U.S. Congressman from North Carolina from 1795 to 1796. Biography Born in North Carolina in 1742, Tatom was a sergeant in the Greenville, North Carolina Militia in 1763 he served in North Carolina Militia during the American Revolutionary War , where he was commissioned first lieutenant United States first lieutenant on September 1, 1775 and promoted to the rank of captain June 29, 1776. He resigned from the Continental Army on September 19, 1776. On August 15, 1778, Tatom enlisted as assistant quartermaster and keeper of the arsenal in the State service at Hillsborough, North Carolina he was contractor for Hillsborough in 1778 and named major of detachment of the North Carolina Light Horse February 12, 1779. In 1779, Tatom served as clerk of court in Randolph County, North Carolina Randolph County he was elected to the North Carolina House of Commons , but, because of his county clerk position, was disqualified from service in the legislature. In 1781, Tatom was district auditor for Hillsborough.     Absalom Shade c. 1793 March 15, 1862 was a businessman and political figure in Upper Canada . He was born in Wyoming County, Pennsylvania around 1793 and worked as a carpentry carpenter in Buffalo, New York . In 1816, he was hired by William Dickson Upper Canada William Dickson to manage his lands in Dumfries Township, Ontario Dumfries Township in Upper Canada . Shade operated a general store, a mill and a distillery in the area. The settlement that developed on the Grand River Ontario Grand River , originally known as Shade s Mills, was later known as Galt, Ontario Galt . Shade also secured a number of contracts to supply food and build roads for the Canada Company . He helped establish the Grand River Navigation Company to help transport goods along the river. He helped establish the Gore Bank in Hamilton, Ontario Hamilton and also helped develop railroads in the area. He also helped to build Galt s Trinity Anglican Church Cambridge, Ontario Trinity Anglican Church in 1844 which still stands, and is in use, today. He represented Wellington West in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as a Liberal Party of Canada Liberal member from 1886 to 1894. He was born near Preston, Ontario Preston , Canada West in 1843, the son of Alexander Allan, who came from Aberdeen , Scotland . His uncle Absalom Shade founded Galt, Ontario Galt . Allan was educated in Preston, Elora, Ontario Elora and Toronto . He taught school and then worked as a bookkeeper in Elora. In 1868, he moved to the village of Clifford, Ontario Clifford , where he opened a general store. He married Kate Bullock in 1871. Allan served as the first reeve for Clifford and was warden for Wellington County, Ontario Wellington County from 1884 to 1885. He was also a justice of the peace. Allan served as master in the local Freemason Masonic lodge and was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Canada Presbyterian church, serving for a time as superintendent of the village Sunday school .     Absalom Harris Chappell December 18, 1801 December 11, 1878 was an United States American politician and lawyer . Chappell was born in Mount Zion, Georgia Mount Zion , Georgia U.S. state Georgia , the oldest son of Joseph and Dorothy Harris Chappell. He attended the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia Athens in 1820 however, he did not graduate from the school. Chappell continued the study of law under the tutelage of Augustin Smith Clayton , passed the state bar exam, and became a practicing lawyer. Chappell was elected as to the Georgia Senate in 1832 and 1833 and served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1834 through 1839. Upon the resignation of Representative elect John B. Lamar , Chappell was elected as his replacement in the United States House of Representatives U.S. House of Representatives in 1843 and served in that position until 1845 when he did not seek re election. Chappell was subsequently elected to one more term as a state senator in 1845 and served as the president of that body. In 1842 he married Loretto Rebecca Lamar, the younger sister of Judge Lucius Quintus Cincinnatus Lamar I and Mirabeau B. Lamar , second President of Texas. The Chappells had five children who survived to adulthood. Chappell died in Columbus, Georgia in 1878 and was buried in Linwood Cemetery in that same city.
