The first wheel lacing machine was developed around 1963 for Raleigh bicycle Raleigh UK. The machine was never put into action. After the labour union realized how many people would become obsolete they refused to use the so called Lacing machine. Later the project was continued within Gazelle Holland who was a Raleigh dealer in the Netherlands. There CC Damman the founder and owner of Holland Mechanics brought the machine to a producible type.
