Wiktionarypar kid gloves Kid gloves is an wikt kid gloves idiomatic expression , but may also refer to tocright Clothing Glove s made from kid young goat leather, very commonly worn from the nineteenth to the early twentieth century. They were also worn by courtiers in the reign of Louis XIV of France. Taking off the Kid Gloves meant they were removed and used to slap someone s face challenging them to a duel. Even though there is in French expressions involving gloves in duel circumstances, they do not refer to the action of removing them neither they give details about them. The term kit gloves is an expression that is sometimes mixed up with kid gloves. Kit gloves are gloves that have been included with repair kits that contain delicate parts, like magnetic tape repair kits. Kit gloves are often made of thin fine cloth to keep human oil off of the parts being repaired. As an example, Hewlett Packard sometimes provides kit gloves with laser printer maintenance kits. The kit gloves are made of latex or vinyl for handling print transfer rollers, again to ensure human hand oils do not contaminate the soft transfer image rollers. It is simply a term used to imply the gloves that came with the kit.
