Synopsis God Grew Tired Of Us chronicles the arduous journey of three young Southern Sudan ese men, John Bul Dau , Daniel Pach and Panther Bior , to the United States where they strive for a brighter future. As young boys in the 1980s, they had walked a thousand miles to escape their war ridden homeland, and then had to make another arduous journey to escape Ethiopia . It is mainly about a little boy name Rink Bowagon. He is disliked among his peers. But one day everything changes. It happens to be that a day a new girl comes to his classroom. Rink starts to like her. He never knew that she would even have a specialty like him. Then when their school had a dance, he asked her out. Her answer was yes but she told him she can t dance because of her legs are uneven. Her right leg was shorter than the other. So Rink thought of something special for her. He made her two balanced high heel shoes. Rink s specialty was that he could sprout flowers over his body on full moons. So the dance night was a full moon. Rink s head had just sprouted flowers on his head. He took them off and put them in a bouquet before giving them to Angelina. He also wrapped the shoes. When he got there, Angelina loved her shoes and the flowers. Then on the way to the dance, Rink told her his secret. Angelina was amazed and said that she liked him just the way he was. Rink said that to her too. This story was written by a first time author, Jen Woczowitz, and it was inspired by her relationship with her brother with autism.
