JohannKaspar Jean Gaspard Reichsgraf Basselet von La Ros e April 30, 1710, Arlon , Luxembourg province of Belgium Province of Luxembourg , Belgium April 12, 1795 in Munich was a leading Bavaria n general. Pushing his career in the army of his new fatherland Bavaria, his positions included electoral Privy Councillor, Lieutenant Field Marshal and Director of the War Council. In 1761, he was appointed an honorary member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities , in 1764 created an Imperial Count title recognized in Bavaria in 1766 . In approximately 1760, he purchased the villages of Feldafing and Possenhofen as well as de Roseninsel Rose Island , thus becoming the owner of the longest connected waterfront of Lake Starnberg . In 1834, his heirs sold the whole property to Duke Maximilian in Bayern, while King Ludwig I of Bavaria Ludwig I became proprietor of the island. In 1770, Count Basselet von La Ros e purchased the estate of de Mauern Mauern near Moosburg . His tomb can still be found in the vault chapel of the Counts La Ros e in Inkofen, today part of Haag an der Amper . He was married to a daughter of the salt trader Johann Baptista Ruffini , who was at the same time a niece of the Bavarian State Chancellor Franz Xaver Josef von Unertl . Alfred Friedrich Bluntschli born Zurich , 29 January 1842 died Zurich 27 July 1930 was a Switzerland Swiss Architect and Educator. Son of a distinguished legal scholar, Johann Caspar Bluntschli , A. F. Fritz Bluntschli commenced his architectural education in 1860 at the Zurich Polytechnikum now ETH under Gottfried Semper , and later 1864 attended the cole des Beaux Arts in Paris in the atelier of Charles Auguste Questel . By 1866, Bluntschli was shuttling between Heidelberg and Konstanz , and in 1870 he settled in Frankfurt am Main where he met Carl Jonas Mylius 1839 1883 , with whom he established a successful arhictectural practice. One of their first successful commissions was for the layout of Vienna s Zentralfriedhof in 1871, though none of the planned structures were built. In 1876, Mylius and Bluntschli won an international competition for the new Hamburg City Hall, though it was not executed to their designs. In 1881, Bluntschli was called to assume the leadership of the Department of Architecture at the Polytechnikum, where he taught until 1914. During his Zurich years, Bluntschli built a number of large private residences, several commissions for the Polytechnikum, and the delightful Enge, Switzerland Enge Evangelical Church on the Z richsee . Bluntschli was regarded internationally as a talented designer and a gifted teacher. When he died in 1930, his work had largely been eclipsed by more stridently modern tendencies in the profession. Kaspar Amort , who was born in 1612 in the valley of the Jachenau , went to Munich in 1631, and studied art under Johann Donauer . He then paid a visit to Italy, where the works of Caravaggio produced much effect on his style. Kaspar Ulenberg 24 December 1549 16 February 1617 was a Catholic convert, theological writer and translator of the Bible. File Caspar Ulenberg.png thumb Kaspar Ulenberg, 19th century drawing He was born at Lippstadt Lippstadt on the Lippe , Westphalia , in 1549 died at Cologne, 16 Feb., 1617. He was the son of Lutheran parents and was intended for the Lutheran ministry. He received his grammar school education in Lippstadt, Soest, Germany Soest , and Braunschweig Brunswick , and from 1569 studied theology at Wittenberg . While studying Luther s writings there his first doubts as to the truth of the Lutheran doctrines were awakened, and were then increased by hearing the disputes between the Protestant theologians and by the appearance of Calvinism in Saxony . After completing his studies he taught for a short time in the Latin school at Lunden in Dithmarschen he was then sent by his family to Cologne to convert to Protestantism a kinsman who had become Catholic. After accomplishing this task he remained in Cologne, where, through his friendship with Johann Nopelius and Gerwin Calenius Catholic countrymen of his , he had an opportunity of becoming acquainted with Catholic life and teaching. In 1572 he became a Catholic, and soon afterwards, upon obtaining degrees in philosophy at the University of Cologne , became professor at the Gymnasium Laurentianum at Cologne. In 1575 he was ordained priest and became parish priest at Kaiserswerth . In 1583 he was made parish priest of St. Cunibert s in Cologne, where he laboured zealously by preaching and catechetical exercises, and made many conversions. F rster studied music under his father Kaspar 1574 1652 and then under Marco Scacchi in Warsaw . He sang bass and conducted choirs at the Poland Polish court in Warsaw from 1638 to about 1643, then served as kapellmeister to Frederik III of Denmark in Copenhagen between 1652 55. In 1655, a war broke out between Denmark and Sweden , and F rster returned to Danzig, working as Cantor church cantor at the Marienkirche there. He returned to the employ of Frederik from 1661 67. During this time he visited Venice several times and played a role in bringing aspects of Italian musical style to northern Europe. He also studied under Giacomo Carissimi in the 1660s. Late in his life he worked briefly in Hamburg before returning to his birthplace. F rster s surviving works are mostly sacred cantata s for three voices, with two violins and Figured bass continuo . Kaspar Zehnder born 27 August 1970 in Riggisberg , Canton of Bern is a Swiss conductor and flutist. He studied classical languages at the Lyceum in Bern and music at the Bern Academy of Arts. His music teachers included Heidi Inderm hle flute , Ewald K rner conducting , Agathe Rytz Jaggi piano and Peter Streiff and Arthur Furer music theory . He further took conducting master classes with Ralf Weikert, Werner Andreas Albert and Horst Stein . He also studied chamber music and was a member of the Mozart European Academy, where his main mentor was Aur le Nicolet . Zehnder gained his first conducting experience with the Kammerorchester Neufeld Bern and the Burgdorfer Kammerorchester . From 1997 to 2006, he was an associate professor at and conductor of the Orchestra of the Bern Academy of Arts Hochschule der K nste Bern , where he focused on contemporary music. Zehnder was chief conductor of the Prague Philharmonia from 2005 to 2008. He currently is the Artistic Director at the Murten Classics Festival. He is also music director at the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern and the director of the Ensemble Paul Klee.
