After his retirement this collection was purchased by the British Museum. In 1833, he was a founder of what became the Royal Entomological Society of London . Early life James was born in Queenstown, Tasmania Queenstown , Tasmania , the son of an Anglican priest. His early life was unsettled as his father moved between parishes. In 1934 he started at Canberra Grammar School , meeting his lifelong friend Gough Whitlam who later became Prime Minister of Australia . He was expelled the next year after a theological dispute with the headmaster and later attended Fort Street Boys High School . He completed his Leaving Certificate in 1936. Between 1937 and 1939 James served with the Royal Australian Air Force RAAF . At the outbreak of World War II , James travelled to Britain and joined the Royal Air Force , enlisting on the last day of the Battle of Britain . After pilot training and operations, he was shot down over France on Anzac Day , 25 April 1942, receiving severe burns to his face and eyes. He was captured, caused a great deal of trouble in German military hospitals and POW camps, and was then repatriated, through Cairo Red Cross, because of his injuries. Newport Chartist He joined the Chartist movement and was one of the participants in Newport Rising and the riot and retaliation at the Westgate Hotel, Newport Westgate Hotel when soldiers fired on the crowd of rebels, killing twenty. He was severely handled but escaped to London . He worked as a stonemason at Windsor Castle but was dismissed when it became known that he was a Chartism Chartist . Working on the new houses of Parliament in Westminster he found himself among like minded people.     About the Pennsylvania Congressman the Australian publisher and eccentric Francis James Francis James April 4, 1799 January 4, 1886 was an Anti Masonic and Whig Party United States Whig member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania . Francis James was born in Thornbury Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania . He studied law, was admitted to the bar of Chester County, Pennsylvania , in 1825 and commenced practice in West Chester, Pennsylvania . He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Senate from 1834 to 1836. James was elected as an Anti Masonic candidate to the 26th United States Congress Twenty sixth Congress and reelected as a Whig to the 27th United States Congress Twenty seventh Congress. He served as chairman of the United States House Committee on Revisal and Unfinished Business during the Twenty seventh Congress. He resumed the practice of his profession in West Chester, and served as chief burgess in 1850. He died in West Chester in 1886. Interment in Oakland Cemetery.
