  1. Israelite Diaspora

Begun in or around the year 720 BC, a rebellion against the Assyrian Empire broke out, participated in by ancient Syria and the Philistines descendants of the Sea Peoples from Mycenaean Greece , and also with Egyptian encouragement. Sargon II , who had ascended to the throne of Assyria, probably after Shalmaneser V s victory over Samaria , reacted quickly, campaigning against the ancient Philistines, and captured the ancient cities of Gaza and Raphia. Sargon inflicted defeat upon a relief force sent by Egypt to Gaza, and exacted tribute from the Egyptians, and even from the Arabian s. Further, later rebellions in the area resulted in the swift extinction of the Philistines as a separate people, and in the conquest of Egypt by Assyria. Samaria had also been involved in this general rebellion against Assyrian control, and Sargon II punished Samaria and the other nations by extensively shifting captive populations within his provinces. Many of the captive inhabitants of the northern Kingdom of Israel Samaria Kingdom of Israel , with its capital in Samaria, were exiled into distant regions of the Assyrian Empire, to the region of the Harbur River, the region around Nineveh and to the recently conquered cities of ancient Media. This began the Israelite Diaspora and the legend of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel . In the place of these displaced, exiled captives, Sargon II imported different peoples from Babylonia and Hamath and settled them in Samaria, where they inter mixed with the remaining Israelites and became the people known afterwards to history as the Samaritan s . Arabians were also re settled in Samaria by Sargon II, in 716 BC. These new, forced emigrants brought with them their social customs and their local gods, introducing them to the region and corrupting the remaining Israelites further with their idolatry idols and cult s, especially fertility worship. The southern Kingdom of Judah was left in an extremely weakened and vulnerable position, and it was not l ...   more details

From 1822 to 1831, the church had its headquarters in the town of Ashton under Lyne , Lancashire , which the church wanted to turn into a new Jerusalem . Wroe s followers intended to build a wall around the town with four gateways. The wall was never constructed, but the four gatehouses were, as was a printing press. 1. Israelite highland settlement

unref date April 2010 Israelite highland settlement refers to ancient Israelite settlement in the highlands north of Jerusalem discovered in archaeological field survey s conducted in Israel since the 1970s. These surveys found a large increase in the settled population dating to 1200 BCE. It is not known whether the Israelites arrived in the wake of conquests or the new villages were established by former nomads or displaced persons. A similar increase was not found in the surrounding lowland areas. According to archaeological evidence, these areas may have been inhabited by Canaanite s or Sea People. A 2005 book by Robert D. Miller applies statistical modeling to the sizes and locations of the villages, grouping them by economic and political features. He found highland groupings centered on Dothan ancient city Dothan , Tirzah, Shechem , and Shiloh Biblical Shiloh . The tribal territory of Benjamin was not organized around any main town. This evidence does not prove there was a conquest as described in the Book of Joshua , but if the biblical reference to daughter villages means all villages closest to that town, the List of surviving and destroyed Canaanite cities list of Canaanite towns not taken in Book of Judges Judges 1 27 35, which begins Nor did Manesseh drive out Bet Shean and her daughter villages ... , the correspondence to the survey results is remarkably accurate. Towns not captured in the central zone were Taanach, Ibleam, Megiddo place Meggido , Dor , Gezer , Aijalon , Shaalbim, and Jerusalem.
