Unreferenced date October 2008 Art worldeconomics is a relatively unexplored area of financial exchange that exists at the edges of the regular financial industry. Investment in art has been an accepted form of deposit investment for several decades such as the purchase of works by Matisse , Van Gogh and Picasso . However these works only have an assured value as long as there is a restricted supply of works on the open market i.e. the artist is dead or producing small numbers of works and that the Authenticity in art authenticity of works can be verified by a small number of sources. In the case of contemporary artists it is the interest of collectors and therefore dealers to ensure a tightly controlled line of supply. The intricacies of artworld economics were exposed by the suit of the family of Mark Rothko against the Marlborough Fine Art Gallery brought during the 1970s. In an action known as the Rothko Case , it was determined that Marlborough had knowingly manipulated their management of Rothko s works to maintain a higher sale price after his death, to the detriment of Rothko s family s interest in his estate. distinguish2 the World Muslim Congress , recipient of the 1987 Niwano Peace Prize The WorldIslamic Congress convened in Jerusalem from the 7 December until 1 30 p.m. on the 17 December 1931. It was attended by 130 delegates from 22 Muslim countries. The Congress called on Muslim states to avoid trade with the Jew ish community in Palestine . The Congress was called at the behest of Mohammad Amin al Husayni , the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem , and Shawkat Ali , leader of the Indian Caliphate Committee. Ostensibly the Congress was called to consider a proposal to establish a University at the Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem as a centre of Islam ic scholarship, an idea which the leaders of the prestigious Al Azhar University in Cairo opposed. However, the Congress was viewed widely as an attempt by the mufti to enhance his prestige in advance of a bid for the office of caliph . This position had remained vacant since a Pan Islamic Congress in Mecca in 1926 had failed to agree on a suitable candidate to replace Hussein bin Ali, Sharif of Mecca King Hussein of Hejaz . A rival clan of the Husaynis, the Nashashibi s, helped to ensure that the mufti was unsuccessful in his bid for the caliphate . Following the election of Husayni as president of the Congress the agenda was arranged as follows Holy Places and the Buraq wall the University of Names of Jerusalem Masjid al Aqsa Al Masjid el Aksa the Hejaz railway Hejaz Railway the furtherance of Muslim teaching and culture Publications Constitution of the Muslim Congress Resolutions The Congress resolved that Zionism is ipso facto an aggression detrimental to Muslim well being, and that it is directly or indirectly ousting Moslems from the control of Muslim land and Muslem Holy Places .
