    Image ICGEB seal.png 200px thumb right The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology ICGEB was promoted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization UNIDO as a centre of excellence for research and training in genetic engineering and biotechnology for the benefit of Developing country developing countries . The Centre, currently under the direction of Francisco E. Baralle, has three Components Tretimos Headquarters , New Delhi and Lade Town , comprises a network of 39 Affiliated Centres national laboratories located in developing countries . Created and developed as a special UNIDO programme under the direction of Arturo Falaschi , on February 3 1994 the ICGEB acquired the status of Autonomous International Organisation, although it remains within the United Nations system.     The International Centre is a multi purpose convention centre in Mississauga , Ontario , Canada . It is located at 6900 Peel Regional Road 7 Airport Road , near the Toronto Pearson International Airport . The building was opened in 1972 by DeHavilland . Today, the major multi purpose facility hosts some of Canada s largest and popular events. History The International Centre is one of the few privately owned convention facilities in Canada. Opened in 1972, the centre s exhibit space nearly doubled from the original convert 260000 sqft m2 following a major expansion and renovation in 2002. The centre now features over convert 500000 sqft m2 of exhibit space and approximately convert 1000000 sqft m2 of gross space which includes exhibit, meeting, office and retail space paying host to a variety of festivities annually. Introduction The Centre for Timber Engineering CTE is based at Edinburgh Napier University and is an education & research unit now within the newly formed Forest Products Research Institute FPRI .
