Into the Hoods An Urban Fairy Tale is a hip hop Musical theatre musical created by London based hip hop dance troupe ZooNation. The basic premise of the show is a hip hop take on the Stephen Sondheim musical Into the Woods . The plot follows two children as they get lost in the hood and try and retrieve an iPod , a weave, a pair of trainers, and a hoodie, in exchange for a way home. On their travels they meet a variety of characters, each with his or her own story. The show features a wide display of dance, but has almost nonstop hip hop dancing. Into the Hoods takes place at the Novello Theatre in London and features music from the likes of the Gorillaz , Massive Attack , Basement Jaxx , Run DMC and many more famous hip hop artists. Into the Hoods has a large cast of break and hip hop dancers including Britain s Got Talent Series 2 Britain s Got Talent 2008 winner George Sampson , Got to Dance winner Akai Osei and Mr Gee, the resident poet on Russell Brand s Radio 2 show. - Hoods (band)
Primary sources date March 2009 Hoods is a hardcore punk band from Sacramento, California . Formed in 1994 by Mike Hood Mraz who later added Logan Murray, Tony Goodloe and Billy Gaffney. With influences such as Madball, Sick of it All, Minor Threat and Cro Mags. The Hoods were known as one of the hardest working bands. They released their first EP entitled Once Again in 1996 and concentrated their efforts on live performances. After numerous fights between fans and an altercation between a couple of the band members and a City Police officer the band was more or less forced out of the Sacramento area for some time. Not to be discouraged the band decided to concentrate their efforts on the bay area playing show s with the likes of Powerhouse out of Oakland and Redemption 87 as well as Skin Lab. In 1997 after a disagreement with fellow band mates and his mothers illness Billy felt it was time to move on who was then replaced by Jeremy. Soon after Billy s departure Logan and Tony moved on as well where they were then replaced by Ben and Mario. Mike is the sole member of the band and the only origanal member left. After many attempts the Hoods were dropped from Victory Records , Hoods signed with Eulogy Recordings in 2005 and released The King Is Dead . The group released a new album, Ghetto Blaster , on April 24, 2007. The newest release Pit Beast dropped in late May 2009. Mike Hood is no longer in Suicide Krew. - Hoods Tower Museum
The Hoods Tower Museum is primarily a naval museum of the Sri Lanka Navy in Trincomalee . It is situated on Fort Ostenburg , a small fort built at the entrance to the inner harbour of Trincomalee by the Dutch and surrendered to the British 1795. It has been called the most powerfully gunned fort in Ceylon with strong batteries at sea level and many guns on the ridge above them. However little of it remains today, mainly due to the contraction of Coastal artillery placements by the British since the 1920 in the Ostenburg ridge. Some of the Coastal artillery of six inch guns are maintained in functional level for symbolic reasons by the navy. The Museum gains its name from the Hoods Tower that commands a 360 degree view of the area and was used for directing artillery.
