Honoratus Bonnevie 1726 8 November 1811 was a Norwegian physician. He was born in Odense as the son of Honor Bonnevie and his wife Boel Corneliusdatter. His mother hailed from Svelvik , whereas his father hailed from Antibes , France . He had migrated to Norway from France around 1700, but then moved to Denmark. Honoratus Bonnevie was educated as a pharmacist in Odense, then he studied medicine at the University of Copenhagen , graduating in 1749. Honoratus a Sancta Maria 1651 1729 was a French Discalced Carmelite , known as a prolific controversialist. His secular name was Blaise Vauxelles or Vauxelle, Vauzelle , and he was known also by the French version of his name in religion, Honor de Sainte Marie . Life He was born at Limoges , 4 July 1651. Blaise Vauxelles took his vows as Honaratus at Toulouse , 8 March 1671. On completing his course of studies he decided on the missionary life, and was accordingly sent to Malta to prepare for the East. But the superiors detained him there as a sub prior, and at the expiration of his term of office he returned to France without having been to the missions. He successively filled the posts of professor of philosophy and theology, prior, provincial, and visitor general. He died at Lille , 1729. The le Saint Honorat is the second largest of the L rins Islands , about a mile off shore from the French Riviera town of Cannes . The island is approximately 1.5 kilometers in length East to West and 400 meters wide. Since the fifth century, the island has been home to a community of monk s. The island, known to the Romans as Lerina , was uninhabited until Honoratus Saint Honoratus founded a monastery on it at some time around the year 410. According to tradition, Honoratus made his home on the island intending to live as a hermit , but found himself joined by disciple Christianity disciple s including Saint Caprais Caprasius who formed a monastic community around him. This had become an immense monastery by 427, according to the contemporary writings of John Cassian . The monastery provided three bishops for the See of Arles Honoratus himself, followed by Hilarius and Cesarius in the fifth and sixth centuries, respectively. Reputedly, Saint Patrick , patron of Ireland, studied at the monastery in the fifth century. Citation needed date April 2010 Over the following centuries, monastic life on the island was interrupted on several occasions by raids, mostly attributable to Saracens .
