  1. Dobrujan Germans

The Dobrujan Germans German language Germ . Dobrudschadeutsche were an ethnic German group, within the larger category of Black Sea Germans , for over one hundred years. German speaking colonists entered the approximately 23,000 km area of Dobruja around 1840 and left during the relocation of 1940. Dobruja is a historic territory on the north coast of the Black Sea . Colonization Image Dobroger.png thumb 250px German colonies in Dobruja The first of these Germans German settlers came between 1841 and 1856 from the Russian Empire . They were farming families from the neighboring areas of Bessarabia and Kherson Cherson , who immigrated because of an economic recession in their home territories. Thirty years later colonists from Swabia also moved into the region. During this period, Dobruja still belonged to the Ottoman Empire and the colonists were subject to colonization regulations from Turkey . Consequently, the Dobruja Germans were the only ethnic Germans to ever be Turkish subjects without actually moving to Turkey as did the Bosporus Germans . They contributed to the agricultural development of the fertile steppe s. Relocation In the first years of World War II, the majority of the 16,000 Dobruja Germans, as well as the Bessarabian Germans Bessarabian and Bukovina Germans , were relocated into Germany . This was done under the motto Heim ins Reich Home into the Empire . The refugees lived temporarily in relocation camps in Austria , but in 1941 1942 they resettled the German occupied eastern territories in Bohemia, Moravia and Poland . At the end of the Second World War war , they fled west, and were found as refugees in all four Allied Occupation Zones in Germany occupation zone s in Germany. 1. Imperial Germans

unreferenced date January 2008 Imperial Germans is the common translation citation needed date January 2011 of the German language German word Reichsdeutsche adj. reichsdeutsch . It refers to German citizen s, and by the word sense means people coming from the German Empire , i.e. Imperial Germany or Deutsches Reich , between 1871 and 1918 and again between 1933 and 1945 and later when referring historically to these times citation needed date January 2011 . The key problem with the terms reichsdeutsch, volksdeutsch , auslandsdeutsch , and related ones is that the usage of the words often depends on context, i.e. who uses them where and when. There are, in that sense, no general legal or right definitions, although during the 20th century, all terms acquired legal  &mdash yet also changing  &mdash definitions. The reason for the differentiation is that there has been a historical shift in the meaning of what belonging to a nation means. Until the 19th century, a term such as German was not too meaningful, although the concept certainly existed. If anything, it was more seen as a cultural concept including language , religion in different forms , and already sometimes Race classification of human beings race in a vague sense . Only with the 1871 unification of Germany under Prussia n leadership did some concepts acquire a legal political meaning, which they have retained until now. In a second meaning, for someone considering themselves German but living abroad, Imperial ... the pre 1871 concept. However, Imperial Germans visiting the Baltic provinces in the late 19th Century, for instance, resented the claims of the Baltic Germans to be German  &mdash for the Germans from Germany, to be German meant to be a citizen of the Reich, while for the Baltic Germans, it meant cultural historical belonging. The opposite of Imperial Germans is, then, depending on context ... of settlement, such as Baltic German s or Volga Germans Wolgadeutsche . German people Category Germanic ...   more details

  1. Zipser Germans

Unreferenced date August 2009 The Zipser Germans lang ro ip eri , lang hu Cipszer were are a German speaking ethnic group in former northern Kingdom of Hungary , now in Slovakia and in the northwest area of Romania called Maramure . Those who did not escape from the Red Army were mostly expelled from Czechoslovakia. The name Zipser is applied to immigrants who originally came from Spi Zips then in the Kingdom of Hungary , now Spi in Slovakia . The name stems from the Hungarian Szepess g . Especially during the reign of the Hungarian king B la III , many Germans were invited into this area. This happened in the 1180s. They were engaged in mining and built towns. The leaders of the Zipsers were usually assimilated into the Hungarian nobility. In conflicts with Austria they always were loyal to their Hungarian masters. Today in Romania they still make up the main part of later immigrants from Upper German dialect speaking areas. Traditionally, most of them have been employed in forestry. Their folk tales revolve around the spirits that inhabit the woods. The Zipsers and other German speaking groups in Romania are currently represented by the Democratic Forum of Germans in Romania DFDR .
