He is the youngest child of actor producer Peter Griffith and model actress Nanita Greene. His older sister is actress Tracy Griffith , and his half sister is actress Melanie Griffith . He did the set decoration for Pacific Heights 1990 film Pacific Heights , which Melanie starred in. Griffith Borgeson December 21, 1918 June 29, 1997 was an influential United States American race car historian , described by the Society of Automotive Engineers as one of the world s preeminent automotive historians . His most well known work, The Golden Age of the American Racing Car , almost single handedly rescued the memory of an entire era of brilliant race car work in the United States, an era whose memory was being lost. Borgeson was editor in chief of Motor Trend magazine he also wrote for Sports Car Illustrated magazine now Car and Driver .
