It was released on May 4, 2004. The album debuted at 42 on the Billboard 200 chart. As explained by vocalist Chris Volz, the fairly lengthy delay between the release of Through the Eyes and Endangered Species was the result of 18 months of touring and, sequentially, the band s desire to not hastily release an album without being happy with its contents. After the breakup of the band, pre production demos for majority of the songs on the album, in addition to 7 unreleased tracks, were made available on the internet. They were quickly taken offline after Universal had words with the webmaster of the site that had illegally distributed the tracks. The webmaster was allowed by the band to put the tracks online, but he did not have the legal rights to do so from Universal. The album spawned one single, Recognize , which failed to receive significant radio airplay. At this time, the band had virtually no artistic control over the music the album was a project of Capitol Records . To quote the http www.klaatu.org Official Klaatu Website s FAQ by Dave Bradley An outside producer was brought in, most of the instruments were played by Los Angeles based session musicians, and the band members were asked to add their voices and usually one lead instrument per song. The band was sent home before the album was even mixed. The difference between this album and the rest of Klaatu s work was immediately apparent. The band evidently resented this, as one track on the album Sell Out, Sell Out was a searing attack on Capitol s attempts to jump on the bandwagon. As it turned out, Capitol s attempts to turn the band into a more conventional and radio friendly pop rock band were completely in vain since the album was a commercial and critical bomb. As a result, the band was dropped shortly afterwards by Capitol, though Capitol s Canadian division picked up the band and released their final album Magentalane in Canada only. It is notable for featuring an awful lot of nudity. Plot The film opens with another gym killing, yet another in a killing spree by an unknown person, who only attacks local spas and gyms. Among those investigating are Mike Sully Sullivan Roberts , Wyznowski Rhys Davies and Yamata James W. Quinn . at the crime scene, Sulley spots a mysterious man leaving, and does not believe him to be one of the police force. They find that there was one sole survivor, a young woman who hid in her locker, and is currently at the hospital, under heavy medication. While visiting her, Sulley recognizes the same man from early, who actually questioned the young woman, as she believed him to be a cop. Sulley and Wyznowski give chase, with Sulley eventually managing to take down the man with his own taser. At the station, he still refuses to talk, but Sulley stills believes him to be the killer.
