It follows Jacob Horner as he deals with an extreme case of psychological paralysis. Plot summary After undergoing a series of unusual therapies with a strange Doctor , Jacob Horner, a chameleon like graduate student gets a job as a grammar teacher at Wicomico State Teachers College. There he meets Joe Morgan, an existentialist who has forsaken both objective and subjective values and wants to live based on his understanding of the grounding of meaning as freed from both, which he tries to achieve by peeling away all layers of meaning as understood by the human mind, thus arriving at some sort of pure state of knowledge. Joe Morgan is humorless, tyrannical, without lightness, or sense of caprice or the absurd. I ve no right to expect you or anybody to accept anything I do or say but I can always explain what I do or say, he claims. The End of Our Road is a single written by Roger Penzabene , Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong in 1967. Originally recorded by Gladys Knight & the Pips and issued as a single in 1968, the Pips version of the song, which talked about the demise of a couple s relationship, became another top forty hit for the family group as it peaked at number fifteen on the pop singles chart in 1968. Much like the minor controversy with I Heard It Through the Grapevine , Whitfield produced a different version of the song with Marvin Gaye , who issued the song in early 1970. The song peaked at number forty on the pop charts. Ironically given its title, it was the very first song counted down on the debut American Top 40 radio show, the weekend of July 4, 1970. It is hosted at the Larmer Tree Gardens , near Salisbury , Wiltshire , and usually takes place over the first or second full weekend in September, opening camping on Thursday afternoon with the entertainment running from Friday to Sunday inclusive. The first festival took place in 2006, and sold out for the first time in 2008. The festival is independently run, and started by two friends Simon Taffe and Sofia Hagberg. The festival is run over four stages the Garden Stage, the Big Top Stage, The Tipi Tent and The Local, as well as a clearing in the woods around the Garden Stage containing a piano at which semi secret sets take place. There are also children s areas and workshops, a healing field, a film tent, comedy, a library in the forest and a games area ping pong , table football etc .
