    The Australian Centre for Egyptology ACE is an umbrella organisation established in 1989 by Macquarie University , Sydney , Australia , in order both to coordinate Australian excavation efforts in Egypt with the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities SCA , and to promote Egyptology within the Australian cultural landscape. The organisation currently maintains excavation efforts at Saqqara , Giza , Helwan and Luxor .     The Institute for the History of Ancient Civilizations IHAC is a graduate research institute on ancient history, ancient languages, and achaeology at the Northeast Normal University in Changchun , China Jilin Province . The IHAC was the very first Chinese institute to establish chairs and academic research positions for Assyriology , Hittitology , Egyptology , and Western Classics Latin and Greek Philology . The Institute for the History of Ancient Civilizations was founded in 1984, after the Chinese professors Zhou Gucheng Fudan University , Wu Yujin Wuhan University , and Lin Zhichun Northeast Normal University jointly appealed to the Ministry of Education to establish such an institution.     The Griffith Institute is an institution based in the Ashmolean Museum of the University of Oxford for the advancement of Egyptology as a discipline. The Griffith Institute is named after the eminent Egyptologist Francis Llewellyn Griffith , who bequeathed funds within his will for the foundation of the Institute. The Institute opened on 21 January 1939, with its own independent committee of management.
