Prussia Cove is a small inlet on the south coast in west Cornwall , England, United Kingdom coordinates 50 06 03 N, 5 25 04 W , to the west of Praa Sands . Prussia Cove contains many cottages for families to stay in during short visits. It is accessible by foot from the Cornish coastal footpath. Prussia Cove is most famous for the 18th century ship wrecker and smuggler John Carter b. 1738 , known as the King of Prussia . This is thought to be the origin of the cove s name, as well as being named after the former Kingdom of Prussia itself. In 1947 , HMS Warspite 03 HMS Warspite ran aground here.
