Russian army of about 15,000 under Yury Dolgorukov met the Polish force of about 24,000 under Stefan Czarniecki . The first skirmishes were between the cavalleries of both sides with Russians being victorious. A full scale battle took place on 28 September on a big field near the village Gubarev. Supported by the artillery, the Russian infantery launched a successful attack on the center of the Polish forces which were seriously decimated. On the flanks, however, the Polish cavalry began to prevail over the Russian one and forced it to retreat in disorder, allowing the main body of the Russian army to be surrounded. However, the Russians continued to fight and didn t abandon the field until the end of Polish attacks and their withdrawal. Both sides suffered heavy losses. The hostilities resumed on 10 October after Russians received reinforcement by 900 men of voyevoda Maxim Rtishchev. The army of Dolgorukov managed to throw a forthcoming force of M. Pac back to its camp but couldn t use this success further. Both armies found themselves in a stalemate and the slow approach of the winter in a ravaged environment was seen as a threat on the both sides. Russians, close to signing a peace treaty with Sweden truce of Valiersari ending the Russo Swedish War 1656 1658 decided to resume the war with Poland in order to gain control over the disputed Ruthenia n territories. After the inconclusive negotiations with the Poles in Vilnius , army of prince Yury Dolgorukov Do gorukow attacked the Polish units guarding the Polish delegations near Werki Verkiai . Polish troops were taken by surprise and were defeated, Russians took many prisoners, including the Polish leader, hetman Wincenty Korwin Gosiewski Gosiewski would remain a hostage for four years. Another Polish commander, hetman Pawe Jan Sapieha , would be later blamed for not coming to the aid of Gosiewski due to personal friction between them. Daughter of the Russian Prince Alexei Dolgorukov and niece to Prince Vasily Lukich Dolgorukov . She grew up with her brother Ivan in Warsaw in the house of her grandfather Gregory Fjodorovitj. Reportedly, she and the Austrian ambassador Melissimo were in love with each other. The 19 November 1729, she was officially engaged to the tsar, given the title Her Highness the Bride Empress , and installed the day after in the Golovinskii Palace . Melissimo was exiled. The wedding never took place because of Peter s death in 1730. Her family, the Dolgorukovs, prepared to installed her as ruling Empress in the manner of Catherine I of Russia , but did not succeed. She left the palace, and at the installement of empress Anna Ivanovna , she was deported with her family to Volosjin . In 1740, she was placed in the convent of Tomsk . In 1741, she was freed by Empress Elizabeth of Russia and appointed lady in waiting . In 1745, she married General Lieuntenant Count Bruce. She died of a cold in 1747.     The College of War sometimes War Collegium , or similar, but not to be confused with other institutions of the same name was a Russian executive body Collegium ministry collegium , created in the Government reform of Peter I government reform of 1717 . It was the only of the six original and three new colleges to survive the decentralising reforms of Catherine II of Russia . Under Paul I of Russia Paul I , it became the model for a newly centralised government.     Sologashvili lang ka , also known as Solagashvili or Salagashvili , are a Georgia country Georgian noble family, known from the 15th century. They were related to the Baratashvili and possibly shared a common origin with them. The family came from the southern Georgian province of Samtskhe , which they left for Kartli in the 15th century. The kings of Kartli granted them the dignity of tavadi prince and estates in the valleys of Algeti river Algeti and Vere as well as in the environs of Tbilisi . The Sologashvili owned the fortresses of Kojori and Ch apala, and the monastery of Kabeni, their familial burial ground.
