She is only known from her burial at Dahshur . Next to the pyramid of king Senusret III were found underground galleries as a burial place for royal women. Most of the burials were found looted, but there were two boxes for jewellery overlooked by tomb robbers. Both boxes contained an outstanding collection of jewellery. They were called the first and the second treasure of Dahshur. The first treasure was discovered on 6 March 1894 and belonged most likely once to Sithathor. Several scarabs with her name were found. The treasure contained a pectoral with the names of king Senusret II, one of the masterpieces of Egyptian goldwork. Other objects were golden shells, golden bracelets, a mirror and several stone vases. Sithathor is not known for sure outside her tomb. 1. Khenemetneferhedjet III

Khenemetneferhedjet III was an Egyptian queen. She was the wife of the Twelfth Dynasty ruler Amenemhet III and was buried in his Pyramid of Amenemhat III Dahshur pyramid at Dahshur . Her name is so far only known from one object, an alabaster vessel found in her burial. She had the titles king s wife , member of the elite and mistress of the two countries . She was buried in a decorated, but uninscribed sarcophagus. Her burial was found looted and only few remains were found. Dieter Arnold , who found her burial, originally interpreted her name as the queen s title Khenemetneferhedjet and believed that the ritual vessel from her tomb did not bear any proper name. ref D. Arnold Dahschur, Dritter Grabungsbericht , In MDAIK 36 1980 , 20 ref However, more recent researchers draw attention to the fact that it is not common just to give the title of an individual and not the proper name, especially on rituals objects in a tomb chamber. Nebit was an Ancient Egypt ian official under king Senusret III . He helt the position of a Vizier Ancient Egypt vizier . This was the most important official at the royal court. Nebit is only known from his big mastaba excavated next to the pyramid of the king at Dahshur . The mastaba was built of mud bricks and then covered with stones. Already in ancient times the high quality stone was looted and used for other building projects or just for burning lime. However, one wall of the mastaba facade collapsed already in ancient times. This part of the facade felt to the ground and was covered by sand before stone looters dismanteld the rest of the building. The preserved facade bears the name and title of Nebit, but also the name of the king. The underground burial chamber of Nebit was already robbed when found. However, next to the burial chamber of Nebit, there was the one for a woman called Satwerut, perhaps the wife of Nebit. Her chamber was found intact and still contained the coffins of the lady, her canopic jars and jewellery. Sobekemhat is only known from his mastaba excavated in 1894 next to the pyramid of Senusret III at Dahshur . The mastaba was decorated on the outside with reliefs. These were only found in small fragments, but the fragments record the name and the titles of Sobekemhat. On an offering table he bears the title of the Treasurer Ancient Egypt treasurer , an office he most likely had before being appointed vizier. The mastaba is in a chain of three north of the king s pyramid. It is closest to the pyramid. The next mastaba also belongs to a vizier Nebit and the third to another high official, perhaps again a vizier. 1. John Shae Perring

Unreferenced auto yes date December 2009 Image John Shae Perring.jpg thumb John Shae Perring John Shae Perring 1813 &ndash 1869 was a Kingdom of Great Britain British engineer , anthropologist and Egyptologist , most notable for his work excavating and documenting Egyptian pyramid s. In the field of Egyptology his work is fairly obscure and his anthropological work is even more obscure. In 1837 Perring and British archaeologist Richard William Howard Vyse began excavating at Giza they were later joined by Giovanni Battista Caviglia . They used gunpowder to force their way into several monuments and then to reach hidden chambers within them, such as the burial chamber of the pyramid of Menkaure , documenting them as they went. When Caviglia left the team to work independently, Perring became Vyse s assistant and when Vyse himself left for England in 1837 Perring continued the excavation with Vyse s financial support. As part of his work Perring created several maps, plans and cross sections of the pyramids at Abu Roasch, Gizeh, Abusir, Saqqara and Dahshur . He was the first to explore the interior of the Pyramid of Userkaf at Saqqara in 1839, through a robber s tunnel first discovered by Orazio Marucchi in 1831. Perring thought the pyramid belonged to Djedkare . The pyramid was first correctly identified by Egyptologist Cecil Mallaby Firth Cecil Firth in 1928 though Firth died in 1931 and excavations there only recommenced in 1948, under Jean Philippe Lauer . Perring added some graffiti inside the Red Pyramid at Dahshur , which can still be viewed today. Perring s work resulted in his three volume The Pyramids of Gizeh , published in 1839 to 1842. Vyse also published Perring s sketches in the third volume of his own three part work http books.google.com.au books?hl en&id ih0GAAAAQAAJ Appendix to Operations carried on at the Pyramids of Gizeh in 1837 . The mastaba was decorated with a palace facade and with scenes showing Siese and his family. Four panels with the image of Siese in front of an offering table were excavated by de Morgan and are now on display in the Egyptian Museum of Cairo.
