Drummer Kristian Skovg rd Lassen joined the band shortly after. The three of them stayed together until 1993. Many famous Danish artists and musicians have started their career with a stint in the band. In 1984 StreetBeat recorded two singles for Steinar Records in London. The first record was one of the first European female rap by C cilie Norby, later internationally known jazz singer . The only album was Gaga Jungle Land , released in 1986 and only in Denmark. It was hosted by the Nashville, Tennessee based disc jockey Bill Hoss Allen , and featured a house band led by Clarence Gatemouth Brown . As the show was to be recorded in color, WFAA , a Dallas TV station which had color facilities, recorded episodes of the program. At that time, none of the Nashville stations had color capability. All 26 episodes of the show are currently available on DVD . Allen appeared as host on all but the last show. Beat for Beat is a Norway Norwegian musical theatre musical variety show that airs every Friday on NRK1 . It has been on the air since 1999, and consistently ranks in the top of Norwegian viewing figures. It is hosted by Ivar Dyrhaug , who has been the host since the start. Concept The show is based upon Ireland Irish game show The Lyrics Board . The show consists of two teams of two members occasionally three or four , each with their own piano and pianist. The teams are then given clues and have to figure out what song the host is alluding to, in order to score points. The team with the most points in the end are the winners. Beat Scene is a UK based magazine dedicated to the work, the history and the cultural influences of the Beat Generation . As well the best known and more obscure Beat novelists and poets this has included artists, musicians filmmakers and publishers. The content largely consists of articles, memoirs, interviews and reviews. Beat Scene was founded in 1988 by editor and publisher Kevin Ring in Coventry , England. His personal fascination for the Beat Generation, in particular Jack Kerouac , was sparked in 1971, but he was frustrated that information about Beat writers and their books was hard to come by in the UK at that time. Ring and Beat Scene are acknowledged sources in James Campbell s book, This Is the Beat Generation New York San Francisco Paris. 2001 . Up until this point only a few home made demo tapes had been made and passed around. This album was released long before they became the power house ska band with the huge horn section that they have since been associated with. The Toasters would not become a steady 5 piece again until 2005. The effort is a 7 inch disk for which Vicky Rose s dad put up the money to have pressed. The sides are labeled Side 1 and Side A .
