  1. Faucet aerator

Image Faucet2.JPG thumb An aerator attached to a sink tap. A faucet aerator is often found at the tip of modern indoor water faucets . Without an aerator, water usually flows out of a faucet as one big stream. An aerator spreads this stream into many little droplets. This helps save water and reduce splashing. The amount of water passing through the aerator is measured by Gallons Per Minute GPM the lower the GPM the more water the aerator will conserve. Faucet Aerators are often used in homes with low water pressure in order to increase the perceived water pressure ref http blog.microsoft hohm.com news 10 03 17 How to change a faucet aerator.aspx How to change a Faucet Aerator ref . 1. Lawn aerator

Image Lawn aerator attachment on a garden tiller.JPG thumb right Core lawn aerator attachment on a conventional front tine garden tiller. A lawn aerator is a garden tool designed to aerate the soil in which lawn grass es grow. Aeration improves soil drainage and encourages worm s, microfauna and microflora which require oxygen . Lawn problems Lawn aeration constitutes two things controlling lawn thatch and reducing soil compaction . Lawn thatch is a layer of dead organic tissue that deprives the lawn of much needed oxygen. Soil compaction makes it difficult for grass to root and it disturbs natural rainwater irrigation . Watering the lawn the night before aerating can make it easier to aerate a very dense lawn. It is purported that scientific evidence exists that aeration makes a measurable difference in the long term health or quality of a lawn. Fact date April 2009 Types of aerators There are two types of lawn aerators. Spike aerators use wedge shaped solid spikes to punch holes in the soil. Core aerators have hollow tines and pull out plugs or cores from soil. Core aerator vs. spike aerator A core aerator removes soil from the ground and leaves the core on the turf. This reduces compaction in the soil, and the holes can stay open for a long time. Then air, fertilizer, and water will be able to reach the roots, thus benefit the grass. Meanwhile, the soil cores left on the turf will help break down the thatches. A spike aerator creates holes in the ground by pushing the soil sideways using wedge shaped spikes. This increases soil compaction, which is detrimental to the grass. Since there is no soil removed from the ground, water will make the compacted soil around the holes to expand and close up the holes in a short period. The lawn will return to its pre aeration condition ... with a core aerator. Powered aerator vs. manual aerator Powered aerators employ the power from ... issue, which slows down the operation even more. However, a well made manual aerator offers ...   more details

The main advantage of using a chopper pump is that it prevents clogging of the pump and the venturi nozzle, as all the solids and stringy materials are macerated by the chopping system. 1. Electrode boiler

Refimprove date February 2010 An electrode boiler jet type is a type of boiler that uses electricity flowing through streams of water to create steam . The most common type of electrode boiler pumps water from the lower part of the vessel to an internal header that has nozzles that allow the water to flow to electrodes. The electrodes are connected to a high voltage source typically 6,600 volts to 13,800 volts . The electrode boiler is 99.9 efficient with almost all the energy consumed producing steam. ref http www.alabamapower.com architect technical library lib sheat ElecBoil.asp ref The conductivity of the water and the voltage determine how much steam is generated in each stream of water. If more pressure is needed more steam the controls speed up the pump and flow more water through additional nozzles. As the needed pressure is reached the pump controls the flow of water to obtain the desired steam output in lbs per hour at the desired pressure. The pump is controlled by a Variable Frequency Device VFD so energy is not wasted. This control system can also control de aerator pumps and controls. 1. Safety shutoff valve

Image sos.jpg thumb A diagram of the internal components of a safety shutoff valve Safety shutoff valves are safety valve s used to close a line and stop the flow of material. Some types are manually closed others are automated to act when a preset condition such as a failure in the system occurs. Principle When this type of valve is tripped, the flow is quickly stopped and an indicator disc tells the operator that the electrical circuit has been opened by a failure somewhere in the system. When the system failure has been corrected so that the circuit is again closed, the valve can be opened by the action of the hand lever . If, however, the system failure has not been satisfactorily corrected, the circuit will remain open and moving the hand lever will not open the valve, because the valve stem remains disengaged from the handle. In a solenoid operated safety shutoff valve, a spring action closes the valve instantly when an electric current fails and the solenoid ceases to be energized. The solenoid circuit is generally arranged so that it is broken upon failure of any element of the system. This valve cannot be re opened until the solenoid is again energized. A safety shutoff valve should be fail safe , that is close upon failure of any element of the input control system such as temperature controllers, steam pressure controllers , air pressure , fuel pressure, current from a flame detector , or current from other safety devices such as low water cutoff, and high pressure cutoff. However, sudden closing of a valve in a Pipeline transport piping system may lead to water hammer or Implosion mechanical process implosion so in special cases there may be additional items connected to the shutoff valve, such as a pressure relief valve or an aerator valve. The coil of the valve solenoid must be connected in series with all of the elements. For this to operate, fuel, air and steam pressure can be converted to electrical signals by means of bellow s, a bourdon tube , or ...   more details
