The people in the district are represented by the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. There are Eastern District federal courtrooms in Philadelphia, Allentown, Reading, and Easton.
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania has 22 authorized judgeships, filled by judges appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. In addition, judges who have taken senior status continue to hear cases. There are currently 36 judges, including both active and senior judges. The Chief Judge of the District is Judge Harvey Bartle III.
