Trini is common slang for a person born on the island of Trinidad, part of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indies. It is an abbreviation of "Trinidadian", the proper term for a person born on that island. It may also be used as an adjective for anything originating from the twin-island state. The adjective "Tobagonian" is sometimes used specifically for anything from Tobago, and "Trinbagonian", to acknowledge the names of both islands.
