Stratton Oakmont
Stratton Oakmont was a Long Island, New York, "pump and dump" boiler room brokerage house that was shut down in the late 1990s. Founded by Jordan Belfort and Danny Porush.
The firm is the subject of a book by its former CEO, Jordan Belfort, entitled The Wolf of Wall Street. Belfort was convicted of securities fraud in 1999 and sentenced to four years in prison.http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601088&sid=azCXCf2BlSaU&refer=home
