Rod Jones (born 3 December, 1976) is the guitarist and backing vocalist for indie rock band Idlewild.

Son of classical musician, John Pryce-Jones^[1], Jones is an energetic live performer, and his guitar playing has been described as "gritty yet melodic."^[2]

In 2006, Jones recorded an album with singer, Inara George, called George is Jones. The album was due for release in the autumn of 2006, however, the project is currently on hiatus and has yet to be released. Four songs can be heard on the duo's MySpace.^[3]

2006 also saw Jones collaborate with Idlewild bandmate Roddy Woomble, for Woomble's solo album, My Secret is My Silence.

In September 2008, Jones announced plans to release a solo album.^[4]
