Red Cross Youth
The Red Cross Youth is a youth organisation for adolescents and young members interested in the organization. SingaporeIn Singapore, Red Cross Youth (RCY) is one of the Uniformed Groups for Primary School and Secondary School students. With a membership of 155 Teacher Officers, 1425 Links, 3038 Cadets as of 31 December2007. One of the 3 active divisions besides Adult Volunteer Division (AVD) and Red Cross Humanitarian Network (RCHN) under the Singapore Red Cross, it finances its own operations and activities. The Red Cross Youth seeks to:
Red Cross Promise: We, as members of the Singapore Red Cross Society, promise to serve my country, and to join with others all over the world to help the sick and the suffering. The Steering Committee(SteerComm) of Red Cross Youth develop and endorse major policies for RCY. The Districts Committee are accountable to the SteerComm for the effient and effective operations of the respective school units. There are a total of 4 Districts schools are categorised under: North District
South District
East District
West District
There are a total of 5 Focus Committees (FC) which will conduct training and upgrading workshops for all HQ volunteers including Volunteer Instructors (VIs). The relevant FC will also conduct the respective incentive badge accreditation for all HQ volunteers and VIs.
Direction of RCY: HQ train VIs, and VIs will in turn, train Cadets. Hong KongMost of the Hong Kong Red Cross Youth units are established in secondary schools, although some are ?open units? that are targeted to adolescents whose school does not have such unit. As of 2006 there are 252 Red Cross Youth units.PhilippinesThe Red Cross Youth is one of the Service of the Red Cross Movement. Every individual whose age ranges from 7 - 25 years old may join this Premiere Humanitarian Organization. In the Philippines where youth are actively taking part in changing the view of others, the Red Cross Youth is one of the medium in changing lives and making a big difference in each and every schools and communities. The Caloocan City Chapter was known to be the most active chapter among the chapters in said country, they were known for their continuous activities, concern to the youth, and effective leaderships. The Red Cross Youth in this country is continuously serving the communities and the most needy. This Voluntary organization is one of the leading youth organization in the Philippines because it is also recommended by the country's Department of Education and Commission on Higher Education that there should be a Red Cross Youth Council in its respective areas. In the Whole country there is one supreme council in which they termed as the National Youth Council, and in every chapter there should be its supreme council in which will lead in every schools and communities and it is termed as the Chapter Youth Council.
