Publicon is a technical publication software marketed by Wolfram Research.[1] It is designed for engineers, physicists, chemists, bioscientists and people who work frequently with technical documents. Although the document technology in Publicon is identical to Mathematica's, the two software packages are fundamentally different. Mathematica is intended for technical computation, thus its interface is optimized as a working environment. Publicon, on the other hand, is built to be a publication software for technical documents. Publicon cannot evaluate even the simplest form of expressions but it can be linked with Mathematica via the clipboard which allows data to be transferred easily between the two applications.
Publicon can export to various file formats, including HTML, XML, LaTeX and plain text.
