Nevan (pronounced: ) (from Irish gaelic "Naomhan" meaning "saintly"^[1])^[2] was a minor saint in Irish folklore.^[3] It means holy^[4], little holy one^[2] or little saint^[2],or follower of the saint.^[3] In Gaelic it is pronounced as NAO-vahn. In English it is commonly pronounced as "Nevin," but should be pronounced as Neven/NEH-vahn. It is a rare Irish given name.^[5]
