The Missal of Silos is the oldest known paper document created in the Christian West. The paper for the Missal probably came from Islamic Spain. It comes from the Monastery of Santo Domingo de Silos near Burgos, Spain. It is a Mozarabic rite quarto missal with 154 folios, from the eleventh century, and is still in the library of the monastery.
