Mental exercise
Mental exercise is to perform an intellectual stimulating task such as solving a puzzle (for examples crosswords or soduko) or engaging in a game of chess. Learning a new language is also a mental exercise. Some forms of productivity consist of acute concentration of mental exercise such as computer programming or mathematizing. A person trained in a variety of mental exercises is unlikely to complain of boredom.
Beneficial effects
Mental exercise is a very efficient nootropic to prevent deterioration of cognition. For instance, it is a major prevention method of Alzheimer's disease.[1]
