Judo-do

Judo-do is a system of throws, intended to extend judo, that was developed by Julius Fleck (1894-1967) and others in Austria.

Many Judo-do throws have unusual names like: The Climbing Plant, The Twins, and The Blessed Earth. While some Judo-do throws can be identified as variations of judo throws, others are based on quite different principles.

When Fleck died, the system was inherited by Wally Strauss in Australia. Inheritance passed back to Europe when Strauss died in 1987. Teaching of judo-do is now largely limited to Austria, Germany and Australia.
