Frazier Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 2,348 at the 2000 census. Frazier Park is also used to describe the nearby communities of Pine Mountain Club (PMC), Pinon Pines, Lockwood Valley, Cuddy Valley, Los Padres Estates, and Lake of The Woods. The city of Frazier Park was named by pioneer Harry McBain for nearby Frazier Mountain. It was established in 1925. The town is contained in Cuddy Canyon inside Los Padres National Forest. This peak, and other 6,000 to mountains in the area, receive the most natural snow in Southern California. The San Andreas fault runs through the region, turning southeast on the west side of Interstate 5, just southwest of the Frazier Park exit in what is known as the Big Bend of the San Andreas. Immediately to the east, the Garlock fault travels through Tejon Ranch and under Castaic/Kashtiq Lake.
